Hope that all of you have enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend. I know that it won't be long before it really heats up, so I am trying to enjoy the beautiful days that we have been given. Just a reminder, this week the students will be taking the STAAR test. We will be taking math on Tuesday and reading on Wednesday. We will still have lunch at our regular time on both days and will stop testing for lunch and then continue with whatever time we have left after lunch. We will have our specials at the regular time both days. On Tuesday - Thursday, the campus will be closed to all visitors. Please make sure that your child arrives on time on testing days. Every day this week, the school will provide free breakfast for all students. Please also make sure that your child have a snack and water bottle for each day. Thank you.Here is a look at what is happening this week:
Monday - rotations to different third grade rooms for reviews
Tuesday - Math STAAR
Wednesday- Reading STAAR
Thursday- we will have a regular day except that we will have specials first thing in the morning due to 5th grade STAAR science test.
In reading and writing and social studies, I will begin to introduce the wax museum project that will involve the students researching a historical figure, writing a report and a short speech they will present, In math, we will begin looking at comparing fractions . In science we will continue to look at animal,insect and plant life cycles.
Friday - we will be taking our field trip to Mills Pond. We will be leaving around 9am and walking to the pond and we will return to the campus around 1.
Students will not have any homework this week.
