Can you believe that it is almost spring break and we are heading into the the final 9 weeks of this school year ? It is hard for me to believe that it is going by so fast. What a busy week last week with 2 days of STAAR Practice testing. Be on the look out this week for an email with information about how your child performed on the assessments. As with the CBA tests we took in the fall, I am not allowed to send the tests home but you are more than welcome schedule and appointment to review your child's test. Here is a look at what we will be doing this week :
Math - Division students will be introduced to variety of strategies for dividing .
Reading - Author's purpose - what is the specific reason the author wrote the story
Writing - continuing to organize our thoughts for our informational piece we are starting
Science - Natural resources. What they are and how to conserve them.
Social Studies - looking at inventors and business owners and their impact.
Homework
Read 30 minutes each day
Math -problem solving ( Monday ) Division sheet ( Wednesday)
Reading - Short story questions - Tuesday and Thursday
Reminders -
Spring pictures if you are purchasing need to send money by Wednesday. Proofs went home last week.
Tuesday - Ms. Prud'homme will be out all day
Wednesday - Early Release 12:45
Spring Break is March 11 - 15
Upcoming field trip - we will be going to the STUNT RANCH at the end of March. This week you I will be sending home a field trip form and also a waiver that must be signed. At the Stunt Ranch, students will do all sorts of activities that relate to science. You can click this link to see what they have. http://www.stuntranch.com/
We went last year and the students had a great time.
