February 25 - March 1

Dear Families,

I hope that all of you enjoyed your weekend and you were able to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather. It is hard to believe that we only have 2 weeks left of the third 9 weeks and two weeks until  Spring Break. I am not sure where the time goes and that so soon they will be 4th graders.

This week, we will be taking the STAAR ready math and reading tests. Reading will be on Tuesday and math on Wednesday.  Please talk to your child about the importance of these practice test. Once I have graded the tests,  I will be sharing the data with both you and your child. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest. Feel free to send them with an extra snack on testing days.

I would like to give a special thanks to Kaisar's mom for helping with the bracelet sales and to David's mom for helping the students make their land form maps.

What else is happening this week :
Monday February 25th -last day of third grade bracelet sales.

Tuesday/ Wednesday February 26 and 27 - Campus Closed -STAAR Ready practice tests in 3rd,4th and 5th grade.
Thursday February 28th - Spirit Day - Wear warm ups.

Here is what we will be learning this week:
Math - we will be working on problem solving .
Reading - we will be looking at how readers read fiction and expository text .
Writing - we will begin generating ideas for  and expository piece.
Science - we will finishing our land form maps and  taking an assessment on soil and land forms.
Social Studies - continuing to look at life skills .

Homework :
Students will only need to read 30 minutes each  night this week .
