Dear Families,
I hope that all of you enjoyed the extra day off from school. It was a busy teacher work day and I am looking forward to having the students back on Tuesday. Hopefully all of you go the note that was sent home on Friday in the agenda and also by email regarding the need for supplies for Salt Dough Maps. Boys are to bring a bag of flour and girls are to bring 2 containers of Salt. We asked for the supplies to be delivered by Wednesday. We will be making the maps on Friday. If you are free and would like to come and help we will be making the maps from 10 -11 . Below also find other important reminders.

Third Grade Bracelet Sales - a note went home in the Thursday folder last week looking for volunteers to help with the third grade bracelet sales . We sell bracelets as the our end product for our unit on how a business is run. For it to be successful,we need parent volunteers to assist the students when they sell.
The sales will start on Tuesday February 19th . Our class is scheduled to sell of Friday the 22nd. and we will need parent volunteers to assist from about 10 - 1 . If you are free and able to help, please let
me know.
Here is what we will be learning this week :
Reading - we will be going back into expository text and revisiting text features but also look at main idea,summary and inference.
Writing - We will finish our imaginary stories and then we will begin gathering ideas for an expository piece.
Math - we will finish looking at the last of our multiplication facts and will begin 2 digit by one digit multiplication.
Science /Social Studies - looking at landforms and about how they are formed,
Homework :
Reading 30 minutes each night - Tuesday complete sheet call volcanoes . Thursday complete sheet called New York City Gem .
Math - Wednesday - complete sheet multiplication practice.
