January 28 - Febraury 1

Dear  Families,

I  hope that all of you have had a wonderful weekend. I had quite a busy weekend with high school district swim meet. Long day but lots of fun. We had  a great week last week and the students did an awesome job writing and publishing poetry. Just a reminder, science fair night will be this Thursday from 5:30 pm - 7:00pm. It is a great opportunity to see the students projects and also do some fun interactive science activities.  If you have any free time on Thursday  between 10 and 3 we are also still in need of people to judge the projects. No experience is necessary. Please let me know if you would like to help

Here is what  we will be learning this week:
Reading - fables and legends - focusing on theme and summary .

Writing - we wil begin writing imaganitive stories and also look at  possesive pronouns and  coordinating conjunctions .

Math - we will finish our unit on linear measurement and move into  perimeter and area .

Science - we will complete our unit on the solar system and begin looking at types of soil .

Social studies- we will be continuing to look at  how to run a business and will begin making our bracelets for our bracelet sales in a couple of weeks ,

If you would like to come and assist with bracelet making ,I would love to have you. We will be making bracelets starting Tuesday and will  make them each day beginning at 1;15 and do it until then end of the day. I will say it again . I would love the help.
