Dear Families,
I hope that all of you enjoyed the weekend . I am excited about the cooler weather that we awoke to this morning. This will be quite a busy week with testing. Just a reminder, the students will be taking assessments Monday - Thursday. Each assessment will take approximately 3 hours. We will begin today with reading, Tuesday will be math , Wednesday science and Thursday will be writing. It is very important that students are present each day for the assessments and that they arrive on time. This week, I will not be sending home any additional homework other than the 20 minutes of reading. I am sure at the end of each testing session, the students will be exhausted.
During the afternoon after testing, we will continue with our regular instruction. In reading and writing, we are learning to research and organize information. Last week, students selected an individiual to research and completed a concept map of things they know and things they would like to find out about the person. This week they will do their research and also select the product that they would like to make present their information. In science, we will be looking at weather and weather tools. In social studies, we will continue to look at individiuals who model qualities of good citizenship.
On Friday, I sent home your child's reading test and math test for your review along with an updated progress report. I hope you had an opportunity to review it with your child. The room parents also sent a note home regarding the holiday party and a request for donations. Please do your best to support our holiday party.

PTA GENERAL MEETING - Tuesday December 11th - this will also include the choir holilday concert .
PTA HOLIDAY SHOP - Monday December 10th - Friday December 1th
( our class will be visiting the holiday shop on Wednesday aftrenoon )
FIELD TRIP - December 18th -
HOLIDAY PARTY - December 20th - 1:00 - 1:45
