I apologize that I am posting late this week. I enjoyed visiting with all of you that were able to attend parent conferences on Monday. I hope that your child was able to enjoy the day off. I had a wonderful weekend Below find and overview of what we will be covering this week
Reading - All week we will be focusing in on characters and how we can look at what the character says and does to make conclusions about them. We will also look at how characters interact with each other. Students will be practicing this skill all week in their independent books and also their literature circle books.
Writing :Students will begin writing a second personal narrative story. We will be focusing on a small moment and really adding details and descriptive words to engage the reader.
Math: We will continue to look at rounding . This week we will focus on rounding to the 100's place. On Friday, we will take an assessment on addition and subtraction strategies as well as rounding.
Science: We will be looking at mixtures and what makes something a mixture and how do we sort a mixture. We will do an investigation in the science lab and also look at how things all around us are mixtures
Social Studies: This week we will finish up looking at different areas and how man has had to adapt to live there. We have looked at mountains and deserts and this week we will discuss plains and wetlands.
HOMEWORK
Reading 20 minutes each night and 60 minutes on the weekends.
