April 30th - May 4th

I hope that everyone had a great weekend. We are hitting the  month of May . It is hard to believe that it already here. It seems like we have so much left to do.  I hope that you had a chance to look at the schedule of events that went home in the Thursday folder. We have lots of exciting things planned but it can only happen with your support. Thank you to those who have already  signed up to  volunteer.

What is happening this week :

Our reading/writing and social studies time will be devoted to research and note taking for our biography project.  Students will be reading from a book about their person as well as research on the internet. Studnets will need to bring in  a white poster board by  Friday if possible. If any of you are able to donate an extra one for  the class that would be wonderful. Thank you in advance for  providing thoses.

Math - we will finish our look at volume and then move into capacity looking at both customary and metric  units.  Students will be bringing home a note today  about collecting some items around the house that we can use as models.

Science - We wil finish our assessment on  lifecycles and then begin looking at food webs and food chains.

Homework

Reading - 30 minutes each night

Math - ( students that have me for math only) A review sheet will go home on Monday and it will be due on Friday. Please attach note book paper to the sheet to show your work.
Collection of items for capacity - items are due Friday


Friday is field day - Please remind your child to wear their class shirt . Please make sure that they have sun screen.
