April 16th - April 20th

I hope that all of you had a relaxing weekend and enjoyed the little bit of rain we did get. My garden was hoping for a lot more. We are in the final stretch before we begin STAAR Testing next week. Students will take the Math test on Tuesday and the Reading test on Wednesday. Each day they will have 4 hours to take the test. The students have worked so hard throughout the year and I am proud of all the growth that they have made.
Here is what is happening this week in our classroom

Math - we are reviewing the objectives that we missed the most on during our review . Some students are doing math webquest. It should be interesting as they are working in a zoo trying to determine how much food they need and how to build the habitat.

Science - we are beginning our unit on life cycles. We will be looking at both plants and animals.

Social Studies: We are looking at organizations that have made an impact in Texas and our community. For example : Dell, Nasa, RoundRock Express.

Reading : we are looking at characters and how they change in a story and how we identify their characteristics.

Writing- Introduction of Words their Way, adjectives and also writing a story about a family memory.

It should be a great week. The weeks are going by so fast.

Homework :

math - pink packet went home on Monday and it is due on Friday

Reading homework -  30 minutes each night. Monday write a paragraph about one of your characters and describe how they look and act

Hope that all of you have a great week.
