We are off to quite an exciting week. Today as we looked at procedural text, we wrote the directions to make a Lava Lamp and then actually created one. Everyone really seemed to enjoy it. We will continue with procedural text in both reading and writing for the remainder of the week . Students are currently finishing writing a receipe and then we move in to a "How to" do something type paper.
I want to remind you to please reveiw and sign the agenda every night. Students should be reading now for 30 minutes each night and a total of 60 minues on the weekends . They must also write down the name of the book they are reading.
You may also notice that I am returning work to students with a lower grade when they have not written in complete sentences. We spent the first semester discussing this and practicing it and now they will be held accountable for that.
Don't forget that this week we will have Explorer Excellence on Tuesday at 8 am.

Social Studies : Continuing to look at Earning, Saving and Spending Mondey
Science - Solar System
Math - Geometry - 2D and 3D Shapes. Congruent Shapes and Symmentry . We will also take a benchmark on Wednesday
Reading and Writing - Procedural Text
Homework : Math - Monday - Congruency sheet . Wednesday Quadrilaterals -ALso make sure that you are working on your poster. The notice went home last week and the poster is due on Jan. 20th
Reading : Tuesday - Sequence Sheet . Thursday - Sequence Sheet . Make sure they cirlce the transition words.
Spelling - Homework due Friday.
