Happy New Year and welcome back to the second semester. I hope that all of you had an enjoyable break . Thanks to all of you for your donations for our holiday party. I think that everyone had an enjoyable time. Thank you also for your support and kind words while I was out before the break.
We are now beginning our third nine weeks. Report cards for the second nine weeks will go home on Monday January 9th and we will have Explorer Excellence awards on Tuesday January 10th at 8:00 am.
What we will be learning this week :
Social studies - Economics - focus on wants and needs
Science - Solar System
Math - Naming and identifying the attributes of 2d shapes
Reading /writing - Procedural text
Homework :
Spelling will go home Tuesday and will be due Friday
Tuesday: Reading sheet - sequence events
Wednesday - math sheet - geometric patterns also information will come home today about shape project.
Thursday - Reading sheet - sequence events
In addition, students should be reading 30 minutes a night during the week and 60 minutes on the weekend.
