October is here and I would love some cooler weather. We had quite a busy week creating a solution and then freezing it and enjoying it the next day. We also built earthquakes and had a great time doing virtual science investigation. The students can access the science link by going to the Wells Branch home page and then selecting teachers and then Stemscopes from the drop down menu. I will add things to this site for the students to use. The username is planets and the password is power.
This week we will have a visit from an author on Monday and on Tuesday we will be taking a writing benchmark. In reading this week, we will be looking at expository text features and also generating some ideas for research. In math, we will be looking at number lines, patterns and temperature. In science, we will finish our unit on mixtures and then begin looking at tools. In Social Studies, we will begin our unit on geograhy.
