Hope that everyone has had a great weekend. It is hard to believe that we are heading into our last week of the first nine weeks. The grading period will end on Friday October 21st and report cards will go home the following week. Look for an email about the day and time of Explorer Excellence awards. At that time students will be recognized for A honor roll, A/B honor roll, perfect attendance/ Explorer Excellence and Hustle award. It is usually at 8am. I believe that it will be on Tuesday October 25th but I will confirm that.
This week, I will be out of the classroom on Monday to attend a training. I know that they will be in good hands. Students should still come home with their spelling homework and those that have me for math will have math homework. This week in math we will continue with time but also look at bar graphs and pictographs,. We will be taking a math benchmark on Thursday. Those students that are in TAG math will also be taking a benchmark this week with Ms. Wilson. In science, we will be begin looking at forms of energy, In social studies, we will be completing our unit on maps with the students creating their own map. In reading and writing, we will continue to look at expository text features and making inferences about what is happening. We will also be working on researching so that we may write our own expository text. It should be exciting. Don't forget that on Wednesday we will have pictures and that on Thursday is the International Fair. Hope that all of you have a great week.
